The Regulated Mom

Signature Coaching Program

helping overstimulated moms bring joy back into motherhood

Does this sound familiar?

You deeply want to show up for your kids & help them develop their own emotional regulation. For them to have happy memories of their childhood.

  • You would give anything to be patient & present with your kids and help them develop emotional regulation, but you struggle with it yourself & feel guilty.
  • Your “good days” are the ones where you just got through it without doing something you regret.
  • You seem to lose it over little things, like a surprise hug or the noise of your kids’ playing.
  • You count the minutes until bedtime because you just need some peace… then feel bad about it later.
  • When you’re finally in bed, you lay there replaying the day with regret.
  • Parenting advice that words for others just doesn’t fit you & your family.
Underneath it all, you fear you’re ruining your kids or wasting your years with them, and wondering, “Is this how they’ll remember their mom?”

You’ve tried so many things.

  • Parenting and nervous system books, podcasts, etc.
  • Therapy
  • Asking for breaks & support
  • Praying, hoping, & trying even harder
  • And probably some deep breathing, too

It might help for a while, but no lasting change.

Cue the endless guilt cycle. It’s exhausting.

You aren’t broken & you’re not a bad mom.

You’re overstimulated & unsupported.

It’s time to support the foundation: your nervous system regulation.

imagine if

Most days you could feel…

Content

with how you showed up as a mom today.

Confident

in helping your kids handle their own emotions & overwhelm.

Capable

of navitating the overstimulation– the noise, mess, and chaos.

Less Stressed

because real selfcare is doable, even in your busy life.

Patient

with your kids because you can actually be navigate the frustrations.

Connected

with your kids because you have capacity to connect with yourself, too.

The truth is this:

Many other approaches don’t stick because they don’t consider the whole mom & real life.

If you want to feel less overstimulated, snappy, & reactive, you can’t ignore these 3 things:

  • Your brain changes when you become a mom, making your senses more sensitive— even if they weren’t before you had kids. And normal hormonal changes throughout your life affect overstimulation, too.

  • You can use sensory input to feel calm, responsive, and in control. Sensory input mattersbecause 80-90% of the function of the vagus nerve, which is involved in regulating stress & relaxation, is sensory— carrying information to your brain, not just from it.

  • Your nervous system’s #1 job is to protect yourself, so your overreactions & behavior are actually valuable information, not just a guilt trip.

What we do:

  1. Get to know yourself & your own nervous system needs through a fresh lens so that you can understand what your body & brain actually need.
  2. Learn and practice in-the-moment support tools for when overwhelm and dysregulation inevitably come.
  3. Read your body’s cues so you can head-off the reactivity.
  4. Build anchor points so that you can be more resilient to overstimulation & feel that way less often.
  5. Know how to communicate your needs in ways that make sense to your family & repair when things are hard.
  6. Understand your loved ones’ regulation cues to experience more peace, connection & authenticity in relationships.
  7. Help kids build their regulation skills by modeling & in-the-moment, natural teaching.

  • Wanting a quick fix or a list of “hacks” to “heal your nervous system.”
  • Intent on exploring the past to dig into to get to root causes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Coaching is new for many moms. We have a list of topics on which to focus & we set goals together to make the best use of your time. Most sessions include a balance of check-in time, education, reflection, practicing, and next-step planning.

We work hard to ensure goodness of fit before we start. But if at any point you’d like to discontinue coaching, you are welcome to a refund of any remaining visits.

Through understanding your own nervous system needs better, you’ll likely start to understand your kids better, too. I don’t work with kids directly, though. If you are a client & are concerned about your child needing 1:1 services, I’m happy to help you know how to interview service providers for goodness of fit.

No. Motherhood is a beautiful challenge, whether you homeschool or not. I just understand the unique difficulties of homeschooling as a homeschool mom myself.

Packages start at $1297 for 12 weeks of coaching support with custom packages available.

Let’s talk & see if we would be a good fit. I’m happy to answer your questions and share more information.

Whitney is a licensed OT in the state of Georgia, but these services are not occupational therapy. Coaching is also not a substitute for mental health services. While the past will likely come up during your coaching process, coaching is a dynamic, forward thinking process and largely led & problem-solved by the client. Sound strange? We can discuss differences more in our call.

Definitely not. Some moms do but most don’t. Let’s learn together.

What moms are saying
  • “Whitney really demonstrated her expertise with practical, effective methods to address some of my greatest struggles.”

    -Homeschool mom of 2
  • “I now know this isn’t just in my head & I’m not alone, and there’s a word for it– sensory processing.”

    Mom of 2
hey there

We moms can push through a lot of hard things, can’t we?

Mess, noise, clingy kids, limited alone time… we often keep pushing through until it affects our kids.

I still remember the guilt I felt when overstimulation & overwhelm led me to do things totally out of character. Other days I just wanted to hide.

Change is hard, though… so nothing really changed until my kids starting mirroring my own struggles. And of course they wouldn’t take help from me. Why should they? I was a mess.

I chose to stay home with my kids, but somehow a good day had become muddling through & gritting my teeth from lunch until bedtime.

Yes, hard days are inevitable. But if most of your days are spent counting down until naptime or bed time, let’s talk.

The years really are too short, aren’t they?
